
If you turn on your GoTab and it freezes during booting, this is most likely because the tablet has drained all of its battery. With the charger out of the device, press and hold the power button down for at least 10 seconds, this is to ensure that the tablet is fully powered off. Then insert the charger, and see if the charge icon shows on screen, if it does, after 5 seconds, press and hold the power button down and so the tablet boots up correctly.
A. Please check the volume level isn’t muted by pressing the volume + & – buttons located on the side of the GoTab.
A. The battery life of your GoTab depends on a few things-GoTab’s have different batteries depending on their size. It also depends on the age or the battery and what you’re doing with the GoTab. For example- if you are watching HD video or surfing the internet wirelessly, GoTab will use more battery than if you’re just listening to music with the screen off. In general you can expect 3-4 hours of high intensity use and up to 15 hours of low intensity use.
Standby Mode
Unless you fully power off the GoTab (by pressing the power button and confirming you want to turn off your GoTab) it will go into “standby” mode which only uses a small amount of battery. In standby mode you can leave the GoTab unattended for a few days and when you return it will instantly boot up to your lock screen when you press the power button.
A. The GoTab ships with a small amount of battery in it. We suggest that you use your GoTab until the battery is empty, or down to only a few percent battery life. Then, for the initial charge, leave the power adaptor plugged in for around 8 hours. You can use the GoTab during this time- just make sure you keep it plugged in.
Under normal circumstances you should charge your GoTab for 2-4 hours, or until the battery indicator on the notification bar at the bottom of the screen shows that the battery is fully charged.
A. The GoTab has a timer that helps you save the battery life when you’re not using it. You can change this time period to suit the way you use the GoTab. To set the timer, go to the Settings menu – Power off timer and set the timer to a desired sleep time.
Note: Some apps override this setting, for example so the GoTab doesn’t power off while you’re watching a movie or reading a book. Check your app settings to change this.
A. Yes – You can use your GoTab in any free Wi-Fi hotspot and any password protected hotspots where you have access to the password (ie a coffee shop etc)
Your GoTab will remember hotspots you’ve previously visited (and the passwords) for up to 10 Wi-Fi hotspots. To remove a hotspot from the GoTab’s memory just tap on the name of the hotspot and tap “forget”.
A. Yes. In the Wireless & Networks settings – Wifi Settings. Press the physical menu button, select Advanced then select Use Static IP and enter your settings.
A. You can connect the device via a USB cable plugged into the socket on the side of the GoTab marked “USB”. Plugged into a running Windows or Mac operating system you will be able to use the GoTab’s storage as a flash drive. Once the USB cable is plugged a screen should display asking you if you would like to turn the USB storage function on.
A. In the Settings menu go to Privacy and select Factory data reset. Note: Please back up all your data as a Factory Reset will remove your saved data. Ensure the GoTab is powered on dueing the factory reset process.
A. As GoTab’s are sealed units and any attempt to open the case will invalidate your warranty. The only physical upgrades you can make are to insert a Micro SD memory card to increase your GoTab’s storage capacity.
A. For GoTabs that are Flash compatible you will need to download the latest version of Adobe Flash from the Google Play Store as per any other app. If the device has Flash downloaded then it should allow video playback.
A. By inserting a Micro SD or Micro SDHC memory card you can add up to 16GB/32GB depending on your Gotab model.
A. the device may be set to HDMI for its video / audio output. Please check “Display” within “Settings” to check the “none” option is selected.
